In advertising psychology one distinguishes active (conscious) from passive reception (which takes place in the subconscious mind) of advertising messages. A mirror is perceived in both ways, active as well as passive: We like to watch ourselves in it and we cannot look away if something is moving in it. We took advantage of this factor when we developed the concept of the Advertising Mirror.
The Advertising Mirror is a semi-permeable mirror, behind which several lightable slides are arranged. At first glance the advertising mirror appears to be a regular mirror, which is bordered by a high-class aluminium frame. As soon as one or more slides are being illuminated, the formerly covered slide instead of the mirror surface is visible.
The slides can be controlled in a way that they can be illuminated each for itself, all together, in a random combination or in certain order. With this effect the mirror creates movement, which draws the attention of the beholder to the slides and the advertising message they are trying to bring across.
The Advertising Mirror can be combined with motion displays. The control of the slides is then being handled by the motion display. Thus, for each and every slide a corresponding text message can be displayed; Fonts and Style, Size and Colour (green, yellow, orange, red and mixed colours) can be chosen and combined any way you want.
